Kando is an environmental technology and data firm, committed to developing and deploying innovative digital solutions that improve environmental health and promote sustainable ways of living. Initially specializing in wastewater management, Kando’s smart monitoring and data analytics systems allow water utilities to detect, track, and anticipate events in their networks in real-time, enabling users to optimize operations and minimize pollution.

Kando has two advanced digital solutions available globally:

Kando Pulse:

Kando Pulse provides water quality sensors and samplers, connected to a user-friendly data fusion and analytics software engine, optimized to deliver operational intelligence in real-time. Kando's IoT units collect wastewater data from the sewage network and a cloud-based analytics engine transforms it into actionable insights showcased in a dashboard for utilities and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) to utilize in their daily operations. Kando Pulse allows capabilities and analytics that are currently unavailable elsewhere in the market, such as future modeling; configurable, automatic, and real-time event alerts; contamination source analysis, and polluter identification. As a result, WWTPs can operate more efficiently, reducing energy consumption, environmental impacts, OPEX, and CAPEX.

Wastewater-based epidemiology:

Combining smart wastewater sampling and laboratory analysis, Kando’s wastewater-based epidemiology solution can pinpoint virus outbreaks in specific private and public spaces, effectively monitoring 100% of the population within a surveyed area without compromising individual privacy. In regards to COVID-19 as an example, because infected persons shed virus RNA in their stool up to three days before developing outward symptoms, wastewater testing can identify outbreaks faster than regular testing. Kando’s smart composite samplers continuously monitor wastewater flow rates and other quality parameters in order to optimize the accuracy of the sample taken. Sampling is done automatically, using field-proven, IoT based, smart samplers. Once gathered, samples are collected and taken to partner labs for analysis using Kando’s protocol for RNA detection, optimized by Israel’s leading researchers in wastewater microbiology. Results and reports from detection analysis are delivered to users within a few days from collection, visualizing outbreaks on an online map, and estimating the infected rates within target areas.
